Tour of Cinque Terre

Today you’ll enjoy a private guided tour of the Cinque Terre, recognized by Unesco as “mankind’s World Heritage”. In medieval times, the name “terra” (land) meant village. From this comes the name Cinque Terre (five villages, i.e Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore). Miles of rocks, crystal clear sea, viticulture, wonderful coastlines, small beaches, bays between rocks – an authentic piece of art.
Tour Highlights:
• Take a train to Manarola where you will start your private tour. Manarola is a small fishing town, the oldest of the towns in the Cinque Terre, with the cornerstone of the San Lorenzo church dating from 1338. The tiny harbor at Manarola features picturesque buildings and despite the lack of a real beach here, swimmers love it for the deep water.
• Continue by boat or train to Vernazza, another stunning village located at the mouth of a river and naturally protected from the threat of the sea by a rocky promontory. Lunch at leisure, then proceed to Monterosso.
• Riomaggiore with its houses piled up in a multi-coloured mosaic overlooking the sea.
• Monterosso is the only village with a large beach and promenade. Taste the unique Cinque Terre and Sciacchetrà white wines at a local winery or enoteca in the village (in case winery is not available for visits, e.g. during harvest time).
